Baldassarre was also ordered to pay $50,000 in civil penalties, $20,000 of the amount suspended for five years, and to reimburse the state $20,000 for legal costs and expenses, the release said. Any patients who believe they are still owed a refund should contact Baldassarres office or the Attorney General, the release said. In a statement issued Monday, Baldassarre said: I take great pride in the connection we have with our patients, so I regret the clerical mistakes made on behalf of the families we serve.
